A fragment my family history is anchored in a place that might as well be from another planet — a mining zone in southern Spain that, after 5,000 years of tearing into the earth for minerals, became a NASA test site for space-bound robots.

My practice is driven by an interest in how many species find their bearings on Earth by looking skyward and how we humans often transform the Earth into something eerily alien in return.
